The Rolling Stones at Forest Hills

The same night the Beatles closed out Tokyo, the Rolling Stones opened the 1966 Forest Hills Music Festival at the Forest Hills Tennis Stadium in Queens, New York, with the McCoys and the Standells -- a marquee summer series kickoff during the Stones' Aftermath American tour. A small accident of the calendar: on one July 2, the two bands that defined the decade played opposite sides of the planet.
